Deciphered update - of spam and silence.

When a site/blog owner/maintainer has no longer the desire nor time to look after said site/blog, bad things are bound to happen. And happen they did, in the form of one failing spam-filter.

I have no idea how or why the filter (Akismet) failed, nor do I care enough to investigate, but the consequences where copious amounts of spam hitting the comments, which took many hours to remove.

But with the spam now gone, and a superior spam-filter (Mollom) in place and working beautifully, I certainly don't intend to let those hours go to waste. I really do, this time for sure, intend to make time to actually do something with this site.

Over the next few weeks/months I will be archiving some of the older, inane blog posts, re-categorizing and re-structuring the rest of the content and giving the site a real direction. Less blog, more portfolio, showcasing my web design and giving a real home to my Drupal module development.

I will also, at a later stage, be launching a new design that I have been working on, but I think that the content and order of the site are the higher priority.

With that said, let's hope that the next update will come well before 6 months have rolled past.
