I've been a fan of portable apps for a long time, I use at least two to three portable apps every day. Portable apps are applications that can run from a USB key on any machine without installation or leaving any information on the host machine. The best place for more information on portable apps is the aptly named site portableapps.com.

I just read over at the Windows Live Writer Plugins blog that TechLifeBlogged has created a portable app version of Windows Live Writer, which just happens to be my blogging application of choice.
